One of my favorites of 1969; a front-to-back stellar show including what is, IMHO, the greatest Eleven ever performed:

Ah yeah--I know we've chatted about my preference for 2/11/69, and CLIFF's partial to 2/12/69, but this entire month just overflows with them, eh? I defn like these two nights (right? 21 & 22 if I recall the sequence).

WTF, Rasta!?? Only 25 (!!!) shows from 69???

;)

Yah it's really tough to find a bad version in feb! I also would throw 2/2, 2/5, and 2/22 into the discussion of greatest ever versions. But this one is a personal fave

and Goodnight to you all as well :)

That's the spirit...and, hey--you don't have to worry about any 69 CREAM shows confusing your searches, right?

;)

On another note, it's rather quiet around here, ya know?

Good night, Bill (and you too, CC)

That's a most excellent one...I still prefer Oct, 67, for pure energy, and then the March, 68 shows for clarity/tightness as they were recording for WofFire, but 4 Oct is defn the best of the fall...good call!

well, if you or anyone else wants the 10/4/68 Cream show, I have the new upgrade from the source. An improvement over wolfgangs Vault and the LL source.

I don't have any Oct 67 Cream...this be my 3rd and last post about a treasure that fell into my unworthy hands. later :)

You definitely need ALL the feb. 69 shows rasta, assuming you've got the storage space. But 2/2, 2/7, 2/21 and 2/22 are a must.

Lol, you flip-flopper! In a review from Mr. Caboose for 2/28/69:

"This, imho, is the greatest Eleven of all time..."

source:

I agree that 2/28/69 is the best, meaning the most appealing version to me.

ahhh, you got me! That WAS before I was very familiar with this one though. I still love 2/28, but there are others I enjoy more now. Might have to go back and do some revising when I'm bored. I'm sure next year I'll be touting a different version as "the greatest", lol. I guess it's just another facet of the subjectivity of the listener, and how perceptions can change.

Seriously though, 2/21/69 IS the greatest Eleven ever ;^) Just listen to Jerry's insane shredding around the 13:00 mark...I've never heard such intensity in any other version!!!!
